Wrong way to position my fret hand?
« on: May 29, 2008, 11:50:27 am »
When I play scales, arpeggios, or anything else when im holding down any note, whether its on the bottom string or the top there's enough room to put a finger under the fingers arc. Towards the bottom thin strings my fingers slant and up towards the top they straight up. Is this weird or the wrong way to play? I find it comfortable. I think I might know the answer to this but not completely sure.

your fingers arent curling it sounds like. thats a more advanced way of playing. if u play a chord like that ur gonna be muting adjacent strings but for single note play thats actually not a bad thing. ppl would suggest learning to keep ur fingers curled but if it works for u i wouldnt change it
