Help needed - connecting Blackstar Fly and smart phone
« on: September 06, 2021, 05:12:02 pm »
Some help needed.

I have a Blackstar Fly Amp.  Android phone is Samsumg A70.

I want to record the sounds from my amp to the phone.

So I connected the line out from my amp to the phone aux point, using a male (3.5mm) to male (3.5mm) chord.

When I hit the record button, it also records the ambient sound in the room.

Any way to just directly record only from the amp and not the other external sounds in the room?

Most phone aux are out only. Maybe with Samsung it is different? If so, there aight to be a setting to turn off the mic.

Need some help from the gurus here.

I would like to record the guitar video of me playing on my phone.

The phone is Samsung Android A70 model.  My amp has a 3.5 mm port to connect to headphones.

I tried connecting the phone to the amp port with a male to male 3.5mm aux cable.

Problem is, the video picks up ambient sound as well.  I want the audio input only from the amp.

Can you advise me on how I can accomplish this?

Much thanks in advance.

This article might help https://smartfilming.blog/2019/03/28/17-using-external-microphones-with-android-devices-when-shooting-video/

I'm guessing you might need a different cable. A TRRS cable not a standard one. Read the article it might help.
