software to slow down songs
« on: April 08, 2021, 06:31:30 pm »
I know there is tons of software out there to slow down songs. But how do you get the audio files themselves? I lost interest in ripping CD's or downloading mp3s from pirate software 20 or so years ago.... anything happened since then? (I know - i'm old). Any of those programs link up to Spotify at all?

cheers

Snapdownloader is a program I have on windows to down load from Youtube. Can down load in various formats including mp3. Youtube you can right click and change speed. For audio I'll either load it into Reaper or use Riffstation (works out basic chord progression but only as maj or min and bpm) with that you can change tempo and key, set capo etc.

All works for me

Cheers

Audacity does the trick as well. Cross platform too.
I'll get it in the end. Just don't give up, that's the key....

I use youtube videos. Easy to slow them down, loop etc. Downloading takes two extra steps (downloading and then deleting later) unless you like to archive things.

I usually buy the individual song, I have started using zdigital now that Google Play store is defunct. Then load into audacity to slow the tempo, loop sections etc

On my iPhone I use an app called “speed of sound”. I have all my music added to my phone from my computer (from ripped cds and downloads). You just import the song you want and used a slider to slow it down/speed it up.

I’d guess there’d be a similar app on Android too

You can slow down a song on youtube during the playback. On pc you can slow it down in 0.05 increments. For a quick set up I sometimes use my phone's inbuilt voice recorder and it gives me option to slow down in 0.1 increments. Those are the quick tricks I use.

Keep on rockin' my friends

Just curious, slowing down the song will change the actual key down, right?
