I transcribed the Clapton style solo from Justin's RUBS (well, did 95% myself and cheated for a few tricky parts) and am building up my speed on it

Haven't played much lately though ... very busy

Been busy too....... but not only that........ been a bit bored with playing. Electric-wise....I want to play my G&L; but that isn't coming 'til at least the first or second week of the new year. Acoustic-wise...... my Ibanez is getting on my nerves. It's a nice sounding guitar, but I have to work really hard to get that sound out of it. I can't wait 'til I have the dough for a well made acoustic; one I can tickle and coax the tones and nuances from, rather than having to wring them out of it.

I'm still playing for an hour, on and off, every day; both electric and acoustic. I'm just getting bored easily.

I've been really getting into the aural training exercises but with 8 adults and 6 grand children (aged 6 months to 11 yrs) in the holiday house it is a bit cozy for too much guitar practice!

The same is happening to me too!  I'm working crazy hours right now and am just exhausted when I get home.  My MIL just passed away on Tuesday and god bless her she decided not to on Christmas!  Life is extreme chaos at best.  I need the peace and solitude of playing but I just eat, sleep and work.  No rest for the wicked as eloquently stated by Jack White.

Been playing more jazz stuff, pretty chords don't make me look better but I sound fancy.

I would have to say this year has not been my best, still grateful.
Came in this place with nothing and you can't take anything with you.
I still have my guitars, lost most of my amps.

I can feed myself and I am not confined to a bed

Fooling around with playing dead notes... or whatever they are really called.

As in you hold for example powerchord, but not pressing it down, and at same time palm muting.
Quite tricky thing to strum up and down while palm muting!

Finally! After working more than full time the last two weeks and being extremely busy, collage start again on Monday. This means I finally get to practise some guitar again, can't wait.
