Nomination for Justin for a Queen's Honour
« on: January 16, 2021, 10:20:38 pm »
Hi everyone. I'm looking at nominating Justin for a Queen's Honour (not sure if its meant to be top secret - guess I have just blown that if it is). Living in NZ and everything being in cyber World makes things tricky. I'm trying to find two people who know him personally to vouch for his character etc (your details would be required on the nomination form and you could expect to be contacted). I would also need some details I don't have in order to complete the nomination form. I'm also wondering if there is an easy way to get an idea of the level of support there would be in my nomination.
Any suggestions welcome! Have tried contacting Lee Anderton via Messenger but to no avail. Will try phoning during the week.

I’m sure that I definitely would not be alone in saying that Justin would get unanimous support from the community here, he definitely is beyond any shadow of a doubt the best and most prolific Guitar teacher in the world!

It may be a bit of a stretch now to say that through his JustinGuitar website Justin has done as much for music as some of the other music-world "Sir"s have.

But he's young, far from done, and given time and the number of people he has taught (and will teach) to play across the globe, the benefits that being musical (rather than just listening to and buying music), and how those people touch the lives of those around them, in time I'd make a case that he will have done more in some respects than some of those "Sir"s

But maybe I am biased, being one he is teaching to play  ;D

There are other awards which don’t include Sir in the title. I was thinking more along those lines...

I know, I was just using that to make the point as to how deserving I think Justin would be to be recognised on the Queen's Honours List.

He is running some charity actions lately so that would be a good thing to mention too.

If you could let me know where to find these actions it would be great. I know about the Aussie Bush Fire one...

He is doing some sort of charitable action on cameo, I will be blunt and admit that I have no idea what that is but all profit he passes over to charity, I suspect it's sort of "record yourself and I will give you some advice" type of service? Not sure, I am certain Richard or Lieven can confirm what's that about, link below:

Justin would get unanimous support from the community here

... almost.

As Macca said: "Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl...", but some of us don't believe you should become Head of State because of who mummy or daddy was.
Some of us find the concept of empire problematic.
I really appreciate what Justin does with the help of his team and wish him all the success and recognition in the world, but in the unlikely event of the establishment wishing to honour him, I would prefer if he joined a long list of admirable people who declined
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_declined_a_British_honour#:~:text=Clive%20Bell%2C%20art%20critic%20(in,declined%20a%20knighthood%20in%202003).

This is not political and i have no interest in raining on anyone's parade.
Indeed I'd probably be amongst the first to congratulate him.
'nuff said...
I'm off to get a belly full of wine ;)
