I think I could have learned it with 3x as much practice ... I'm aiming for the stars and not quite (!!!!!) getting there.

The first half in particular is particularly cringeworthy - you'll see why

Great stuff Mari, I think when you bear in mind it's only 7 hours of practice in total you did really good! Another 7 and you will definitely nail it

I quite enjoyed the idea of recording your progress, really good for all those folks starting their guitar adventure to see not everything comes effortless and that patienceis a key.

Glad to see a competitor in Justin's contest and I hope to see more soon!

Phew, some wicked chords there! I think that based on your practice time and the difficulty of the chords you’ve done really well. I would be having nightmares trying to learn that one in less than about a month 😂

Well done! I tried to play this song through and it's tough! So good vibes for entering, sharing and also a nice creative touch with sharing your progress. As Adi said, it's important for the new players to see that it takes practice to reach the goals, so extremely inspiring and motivational.

Wow! Thanks for posting it as a "progress" video. You've come a long way in 7 hours.

Makes me feel better about my effort. Might even do a "work in progress" post tomorrow.

I do know for sure I am using all available 6 days left LOL..

Which reminds me - Is the deadline time zone specific? i.e. midnight GMT or midnight US Eastern time? - I may need every second. (just kidding...)

Thank you for listening and commenting everyone! It's obviously far from a 5 star performance, but I was happy with the video idea and seeing my progress, because I can also see how much my playing improved with practice. That includes going back to listen to the GP version a few times btw, and noticing timing errors I had (even though I know the song, and read music!), and also noticing some incorrect chord changes. That reminds me of Justin's adage 'practice makes permanent' - it's best to practice correctly rather than having to correct mistakes later.

Not sure if I will continue on with this one, or let go of my interest in jazz guitar for awhile, these chords are tough on my arm, and with 15 minute practice sessions it takes a good long while to improve. Lots of other guitar goals though

That was a great share and what a journey, like a sleigh ride through a mogul field. I was urging you on every step of the way and boy there some hard to finger chords and tough changes. 7 hours I reckon 7 weeks for me to get to where you are. Great job on a tough challenge.

That was great Mari, I enjoyed watching your progress learning the song too. Some really clever jazz chords in there and it’s not an easy song. You say the chords are hurting your arm but it would be a shame to give up on them after getting to where you are.

Dare I say I might have saved the best till last?
I really enjoyed watching your progress.
If I were ever tempted to go down the fancy chords/jazzy path, I would come back and watch again how progress comes with practice.
You make me want to make unrealistic New Year's resolutions

Thank you Gordon. Yes I feel a little lost in my guitar journey right now, but I’m glad to see with this one that 15 minute practice spurts does get me somewhere - even if not quite (!) to the desired end!
