YNWA
« on: September 20, 2020, 10:38:47 pm »
A year ago today, one of my closest friends in West Kirby passed away.
The night before, our two families spent the evening around her bed, chatting, laughing and listening to her favourite music.
At her funeral, three of her eldest son’s school friends and a cousin played this piece at her request.

Love, life, death, religion, music and football- it doesn’t get more Merseyside than that.

(keep your eyes peeled and you can spot yours truly in a red waistcoat, swigging the communion wine ;) )

Caught this on the YT channel earlier Brian.
I saw you having a glug from the goblet.

It had resonance with me when I saw it this morning - I had spent some of yesterday afternoon visiting my mother in her garden on the 8th anniversary  of my father passing.

Very moving. And poignant for me too, an Uncle’s funeral today, although with the restrictions here I couldn’t attend so had to watch the livestream.
Beginner Course (Classic) done, Intermediate Course  - in progress. Theory Course - in progress.

Finally the YT playback stopped throwing me an error.

Beautiful, moving, as you said, Brian.

Believe it our not, I didn't immediately intrepret the acronym.  As you also said ... football ... not much compares with a full Anfield crowd singing YNWA ... tears me up every time.

Mary RIP, may you be blessed with happy memories, Brian

Lovely tribute, and that was no age to be taken away from her loved ones - such a shame 😭

That was very poignant.
YNWA is a very inspiring song & is apt for the tribute made.

Yes, your friend Mary was way too young to leave this life.

My best wishes to everyone associated with her, I'm really sorry for your loss.

Take care

Tony.

Brian

Been curious about this post but never twigged. Shoot I have as I have heard this so many times when Watford and Liverpool played each other over 40 odd years, it should have slapped me in the face but I grow old and forgetful. Bit like the Hornets and the Blues with Johnny Todd.

"Love, life, death, religion, music and football- it doesn’t get more Merseyside than that." Man yeah two plus  years in Formby and that still cuts me to the bone.

Its stupid o'clock and this old die hard rocker just crumbled into tears watching this. Sorry for your loss lah may she rest in peace.

Cheers

Toby
