Hi Everyone

A little background is probably in order. I’m part of what I suspect is a growing band of COVID-19 lockdown beginners. At the time of writing (Jun 2020) I’ve been using Justin’s amazing new beginners course and app for a few months and I’m starting lesson 10 (on the new course).

I’m absolutely loving the journey but I wondered if anyone was around my area who would be interested in trying an occasional “jam” or practice? I’m a completely sane and sorted married guy in my early 50’s and I’m really loving my guitar journey, but, thought it would be even more fun to have a learning/jam buddy once in a while to practice with or just generally chat about how we are both struggling over the same things!

Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire are big areas! I live just outside Gloucester towards Forest of Dean.

That’s a fair comment lol

We are pretty close, in the big scheme of things, I’m just outside Cheltenham. However, looking at your forum joining date you are light years ahead of my current stage in the journey!

Lol doesn’t matter if you fancy getting together no problem. Really helps to practice with someone.

For me it is a win win, I get to pick the brains of someone much further along the journey than my faltering clunky attempts to put my fingers somewhere within the same postcode as they are supposed to be. For you it’ll be a torturous time with ear plugs in trying to work out how it’s possible to make a guitar sound that unpleasant.  So I’m game  ;D

It would be great to meet up even to just pick your brains, grab a few tips and who knows perhaps strangle a few basic chords together lol

Feel free to drop me a line if you fancy grabbing a coffee sometime and sharing words of wisdom! If I can work out how to message in the forum I’ll send you my email

It would be great if we had a few others from the local area saying hi as well! Who knows how many lockdown beginners we have around here
