Want to start with guitar solos? Check this video out...
« on: May 01, 2020, 10:17:02 am »
Hey guys,

I came across this really excellent lesson on YouTube from R.J. Ronquillo where he explains how to solo at various levels, from beginner to advanced, over the chord progression from "Little Wing".

Really inspiring stuff, and I would say that *everybody* can get something out of this lesson.

Take care!

Kasper

Great tutorial Kasper, really enjoyed it and should get something out of if. Interestingly I found the last example fascinating, proving that some times slow and steady still wins the day.  8)

Great tutorial, I’ve watched the first part, thanks for the link, although it’s above my level at the moment. One question however. Why on earth would a right handed player play with an upside down leftie guitar?

@safir:

I guess the upside-down headstock is a nod to Hendrix, who indeed was a leftie who played a right-handed guitar upside down (IIRC).

Regarding skill level, remember that being on "Level 1" doesn't mean that you have mastered that level yet... so as soon as you know the scale shape for the minor pentatonic position 1... then you're equipped to start playing solos. It can still take a long time to get good at it ;)
