wonderful and very personal take on this song!
great job on both the guitar and vocal parts.

I'm working on this one as well.
Very interesting to hear what you made of this!

the only thing I miss is the particular interval on the "I hope you don't mind". (around 01:34)
The interval jump was altered and for me, the strongest hook of the song was taken away.
minor (personal taste) remark though :)

Sounded great to me. Very moving. I've never cared enough for any song to do 43,000 takes. Hat's off for that and for the great performance!

Thanks Lieven. I hope we’ll hear your version soon! I like the chord progression I’m playing (in G), but I haven’t heard any other guitar covers so would love to hear one from you. This tune would be perfect for your coffee house persona.

I listened through quite a few times but wasn’t bothered by any vocal change from the original in that section. I appreciate the input though, there are definitely songs where a particular phrasing is what stands out the most to me.

Thanks Clint. We’re working on getting to a reasonable number of takes, because really even if there is a discernible difference between 42,999 and 43,000 - at that point I can’t hear it anyway!! 😃

That's lovely - really great job, guys, thank you for sharing!

I think it works so well on guitar, too - people always say this is a piano song, but your version is awesome. <3

What a song! What a lovely voice! Solid guitar playing! What a duo! And you play piano too Mari?! Just how talented are you?! Love this! Gonna save this for one of my “on repeat” phases!

Thanks so much, Bala, and we made it to one of your future “on repeat” phases, awesome!! Also gives me a good idea to make my own list for an ‘on repeat’ phase 😃

Wow from me also, really nice, I am listening to this while working at home late, makes it a lot more funny working.

I really love Kristas vocals, she is a great singer. And both piano and guitar sounds lovely. Congratulations on a great recording. Elton John would be proud hearing this.

Thanks Johan :) Krista is not actually entirely happy with the vocals. We did another version in F# instead of G and are thinking that will be a better version for our ‘album’ (lol). We always play it in G but it’s not sounding the same as it usually does. It’s so easy to raise the key on guitar with a capo (within reason), kind of a pain to tune the whole guitar down though, for one song. And I’m happy with the chord sequence so I don’t want to try to change the key that way. Anyway - thanks for listening and commenting, we’re glad you liked it :)

Loved this. A great song to begin with - but loved the piano, vocals and of course your guitar Mari. Great cover of a classic.

Thanks! We’re working on a redo so I’m no longer happy with this one myself lol 😃
