Florian Schneider, co-founder of highly influential electronic pop group Kraftwerk, has died at the age of 73.

For a die hard rocker like me, this was hard to call a classic but a classic it was.

RIP Florian a breath of fresh air.  :'(

if you were an 18-yr old living in a German speaking country, during the 'Neue Deutsche Welle', it is hard to describe this as anything else than iconic   :)

True. For instance in 74' when Autobahn came out I had Sabbath and Purple et al and this was strangely iconic for me as it was so different and fresh. Especially after years of prog rock ELP Wakeman inspired keys. It opened a new era.................................................hey and then BANG '77 lets pogo to Punk ;D

This is from Robert Christgau's review of a Very Best of release:

All ye need know of rock & roll's sacred essence, in 25 tracks and 60 minutes."

I's about 8 minutes in.
This takes me right back - I had it on cassette tape years and years ago.

I'm not a particular fan of the 'death-watch society', but people who have given me a great deal of pleasure deserve a mention-
Mori Kante, RIP
(feel free to ignore the symbolism 2 min in  ::))
