Update.

Lieven and I have been compiling comments and suggestions with a view to picking over useful / practical / possible tweaks.

Also, I have spent a large part of today rearranging the forum. You will notice that many threads and sections have been moved.  Please let me know your initial thoughts - if you have any - on these changes. It is a work in progress.

:)

Having had a good look (the first time for a while) I think that it looks much less cluttered and easier to navigate, well done!,,
Still here, still learning - no longer letting Fibromyalgia get in the way, it sucks but doesn’t have to mean your life stops!

Please update the general forum FAQ! I'm new to this forum and I just spent a considerable amount of time trying to upload an avatar which - as I know now - doesn't work anymore. I even found a post telling me to resize my avatar to 80x80 which I did, to no avail. In the meantime I found many people asking the question "Why can't I upload my avatar?" Well, this definitely seems to qualify as a FAQ then  ;-)

Two other additions to the FAQ that I suggest are:
Why can't I post external links?
Why do I have to solve 15 CAPTCHAs to publish one post?

I have also seen these two asked many times. Meanwhile I know the answer to these questions (and a solution for the last two) but the 60 minutes it took me to find them would have been better used practising the guitar  :-)

@ jowidi - thanks and your suggestions have been acted upon already.

As to the captchas ... anti-spam measures ... do you literally mean you had to do 15?

@ close2u - thank you, that was really fast.

15 captchas have been a slight exaggeration but when I preview a post I often find typos or several things that I want to change. As the captchas time out after a few minutes I had to solve about five or six of them for my first post. That still felt like way too much ;-)

Not sure if it's already been covered but I'd like to be able to "tag" posts and get notifications when they updated. At the moment it's a matter of using Unread Posts.. Thats fine if you get chance to look daily but not if you only get chance to catch less regularly. This functionality exists on most of the forums I use now.

That is on our list and would be a good additional function I agree.

We have this … click the Notify button … two along from the Reply button under the thread posts.

I'm Italian and I know at least a couple Italian songs that have lovely arrangements (acoustic guitar) made by some of the finest Italian guitarists: wouldn't it be possible to have a place around here where to share them and where to ask for some directions on how to learn or perfect them? I think that that even Justin would love them should he have the time to check them out.

To see what I mean, listen by yourself:
- Edoardo Bennato - L'isola che non c'è  (lovely intro and good all the rest) Arr. Lucio Bardi (Finardi, De Gregori)

- Fabio Concato - Domenica Bestiale  (again, lovely lovely intro and it keeps going for all the song, behind the vocals) Arr. Massimo Luca (historical guitarist of Lucio Battisti)

Thanks.
