Serious GAS! Epiphone LP Tribute Plus
« on: September 20, 2019, 07:05:48 pm »
Hi

I have a hollowbody guitar, own brand which I was going to trade in for a Gretsch hollowbody.  But thought (with advice from my guitar teacher) that I’d be getting something with a similar sound...

But I’ve had my head turned by this

Gas is gas.
But if you want a Gretsch and haven't yet played one then you must. They feel and sound like a Gretsch.
That could help you decide.

If you've been used to a hollow body that LP would feel horrendously heavy to you, plus as Close says a Gretsch doesn't sound the same as anything else they have a distinct sound of their own. Make sure that you try both and go open minded, if neither of them jump out at you then walk away; it's no good buying a new guitar that you don't connect with!
Still here, still learning - no longer letting Fibromyalgia get in the way, it sucks but doesn’t have to mean your life stops!

Agreed. Off for a play

Had a go on my teachers Strat. Felt weird, and I kept missing the strings!!

But also felt good...
