have everybody felt the pain
« on: August 13, 2019, 08:35:59 pm »
Hello everybody

I dd the transcribing course that justin made, I made it though with a reasonable resultat.
ready to transcribe some real songs, as I sat down to do that, I felt lost.
I found it so much harder to pick out the notes, and felt like I was hopeless at this.
Have everybody felt this way when first trying to transcribe songs? it is just a part of the journey or should I go back I do some more of justin transcribing course ?

yeah of course; in the beginning it is a daunting job, especially when there are sounds interfering with the guitar tone or the phrasing is just fast.

Make sure you start easy enough. Transcribing the basic chords of simple songs was hard enough for me to start with and most of it was trial and error any way :)

keep at it!
As soon as you learn some basic scale shapes and you learn to recognize keys and scales; transcribing licks, riffs and solos gets more manageable.

Absolutely, nobody said it was going to be easy - keep going and learning, the more you do the easier it gets.
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟
