2019 Cover #27 (Supersonic)
« on: August 11, 2019, 03:08:09 pm »
An attempt to cover Oasis debut single from 1994, here in the acoustic style of Noel Gallagher solo performances. Looks easy but actually I find it kind of tricky to play. Need much more work but my practice time has been limited the latest weeks.

Well you make it look fairly easy to play, Johan.  Impressive performance to maintain the steady rhythm while remembering all those lyrics.  And chord changing was mostly pretty smooth throughout.  You got a great feel for these Oasis tunes.

Nice! Glad you ditched the hazy video filter. This might be your best all around track. Your chops are on an upward trajectory. Love me some open rock chords too. I play the h*ll out of them as well. :)

Thanks David and CT! Some changes need more work, like the change to B11 (B7 without the little finger on the high E string) and the change from B11 to Cadd9 when the chorus starts.

This might be your best all around track. Your chops are on an upward trajectory.

Thanks, I agree that my right hand technique looks/sounds pretty good here. Some signs of better dynamics and more control I think.

Tricky song to play, particularly on acoustic, but I thought your cover was good. Prefer the video without filter too!

Thanks Rossco and hilts, glad you enjoyed it.

Next up is a Blur cover with some tricky bar chords and a few tricky parts. Working on it, hopefully can have it down ok during the weekend.
