Sliced the top of my index finger Tod
« on: July 11, 2019, 01:15:50 pm »
Hi guys, and girls
Looks like a set back to my learning journey, sliced the tip of my index finger, and ripped the nail on my fretting hand at work this morning....

Ouch. There are things you can do. Right hand work with muted strings. Learning notes on the neck. Learning chord grips without using that finger. After all Django did ok with a couple of fingers

Could be worse.  Ask Toni Iommi.

Sorry to hear that.

(I had a minor "fingertip slice" a while back. Luckily, in my case it just sliced into the callus. It didn't draw blood, but it made a "flap" that would catch on the string. I super-glued it down, and it eventually healed. Felt lucky.)

That is no excuse, you can still do barre and power chords.

I sliced my pinky a while back and had to get it glued back together. Was out for a few weeks but I did the theory course while I couldnt play.

Maybe you can practice strumming patterns with a metronome and get that down!

I don't know if your up to playing scales and or triads etc.  Phil X takes his first finger out of play when practicing sometimes.   Or so he says, I believe him.
