Timing
« on: June 10, 2019, 03:13:07 pm »
Hello, I am new to the forum. I have dabbled with the guitar for a while. I found Justin Guitar and I am doing very well. I am in stage 6 but my problem is I am struggling to understand 8th notes and 16ths. I understand the basic 4 down beats, but I am having trouble with timing and trying to use more advanced strumming patterns. I don't really get 1e&a 2e&a etc. I'm trying to find this info in the lessons but I am having trouble. Looking for suggestions thanks

Hello Rennat and welcome.

16th note strumming is for further down the line.

8th note strumming is what your arms does when you look to strum with 4 down strokes.

If your arm goes down four times it comes back up four times.

This is:

1   +   2   +   3   +   4   +
