Strumming playing songs using the App
« on: May 09, 2019, 01:10:39 pm »
I downloaded the beginner app a couple of weeks ago, and love it so far.

I have one big question, though: many of the simpler songs appear to have four strums per chord (e.g. "Spooky.") Other songs, however, seem to have two chords per four strums. (e.g. "A Girl Like You"). I could be wrong, but I am assuming that you're supposed to play four down strums in the time it takes for the horizontal bar to cross the screen.

How then, should I apply the more complex strumming patterns to songs like as "A Girl Like You," such as down down down-up down, and down down down-up down-up? I assume I'm not supposed to play four down-strums per chord, which would be really fast.

Any advice is appreciated.

Yes you still play 4 down strums per barre. 4 strums per barre means if
there are 2 chords the 2 strums per chord.
The 2 examples you gave are both 4 down strums per barre.
If you are advanced enough you can start adding up strums if not stick
to 4 down strums for now.
