Amazing Brian. Look how far you've come. I miss the early bit when you progress really quickly. Love your singing and really enjoyed this cover.
Thanks Garfield
I know... I miss that 'I'm-way-out-of-my-depth-and-haven't-a-clue-what-I'm-doing-feeling' too, with another chord every week and new insights around every corner.

0 to 60 is so much more exciting than 60 to 70  :)

Still, I'm happy where I am wouldn't change a thing on my journey so far.
I'm looking forward to settling in for the long haul.

Hi Brian,

Cool cover.
Playing was solid and the vocal was totally convincing.

Sound of Silence next?
Great tune - looking forward to hearing it.
Been trying to get Katja to do a cover. She's sent me a few vocal demos which sound really nice. I'm just to lazy to play (and too technically inadequate.)
Hope you do some vocal harmonies on it.

Technical inadequacy happens to be my forte  ;)

Hmm... never tried that.
OK, we'll give it a try  :)

Good song choice, and well played, Brian.  Very clean strumming.  But next time maybe you could show us your fretwork.  I have a smartphone adapter that mounts on a camera tripod.  Easy to adjust.  I set the phone camera to selfie mode (using the front camera), so that I can see if I'm positioned properly.

@Sunjamrblues

Thanks for taking the time to listen and your positive feedback.
Yes, I usually adjust the frame to show the guitar, but this time I was just planning on doing a couple of test/dummy runs.
When it ended up OK, I was too lazy to do it all again.
Next time  ;)

Was able to play the video fine just now, Brian. Sounded great. Nice control of the guitar and your vocals. Timing was spot on.

I'm hoping 60 to 70 is as good as 0 to 60 after making allowances for the bits that don't work as well as they did. My knees and hips :)

I prefer the NIN version to Johnny Cash's cover but this is very well played and sung.

Haha- I'm talking mph, not years  :P

Yes, they're two different songs, really.
Have you seen Bowie's contribution?
Johnny, Trent, David... I suddenly don't feel so rock'n'roll anymore  ::)

Brian

Good to see someone else covering this version. Thought you did a good job even if it was just off your phone. Vocals and picking both fine overall, Well done.

Cheers

Nice job Brian enjoyed listening to it. Nice clear vocal and the playing wasn't bad either. Sounded a little rushed in parts but that's probably just the pressure of recording!

Hi, Brian. Well, that was a very pleasant listen, indeed. I really like the guitar, fingerpicking to strum, and very much like your vocal delivery on this. Possibly my favorite offering of yours to date. Sorry you were sidetracked from SOS and looking forward to that one.

Good job playing through the throat clearing. Haha. Your videos are always entertaining. I thought the transitions from picking to strumming were pretty good. That's not easy to do. Playing and singing together sounds great, too.

@ Toby
Merci, mon ami  :)

Sounded a little rushed in parts but that's probably just the pressure of recording!
Thanks Rossco  :)
You're quite right- it does speed up as I go along. I hadn't noticed- Thanks!

In fact when I play Justin's version and mine side by side, I'm really surprised (and pleased) that they are virtually the same speed- until I speed up at the chorus  ;)

Wow- High praise indeed! Thank you  8)
Sorry you were sidetracked from SOS and looking forward to that one.
It is only a minor delay I hope- Kids home from college and visitors from Ireland over Easter has meant little playing/practice, but it will come.
In fact it was you who suggested that I should cover it in the first place!  ;)

@ Lynn
generous as always- Thanks!  :)
