Really nice playing. It must be really hard to play like that at this speed and sing too at same time. I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere too.
Thumb up for me ;)

Hey Sweed, respect! Nice song. That finger picking thing, I’ve tried it, it ain’t easy, you make it look easy! And singing as well! It sounds just great. I’m interested to know roughly how many hours did it take to get that smooth with the picking?

@ mari

Thanks. I've always loved this song too, I'm glad you liked it.

@ Cagn  Thanks for the thumbs up.  Very hard at first but with lots of practice it finally falls into place.

@ b1rdland

Thanks for the kind words.  The hardest part of finger picking for me is getting used to the finger picks.  I wish I could grow nails, and not break them at work, and not have to use the picks.  I spent enough time on this that the picks almost feel normal.  How many hours?  Well, I started in mid January, practiced everyday 'til now.  I'd guess somewhere around 65 hours  :o  Most of that time was getting the tempo up and still be able to keep the pattern going.  I credit Justin's courses that taught me if I start slow, build it over time, and stay the course I will eventually get there.

Wow very sweet Sweed! Still blows me away looking at all them pics and knowing it would wipe me out even thinking about trying to get all the fingers moving in some sort of 'audible' way! Nice work my man! You have a nice balance on the mix I think. I hear no thumb pick noise on this, nice work there.

Can't say much more as you have it covered very well, so to speak.

So what is next on your end? You going to keep on this roll of being a multi pick guy?

You take care and I really liked the work you put in on this one!

Mellow & Smooth.
Nicely done Sweed.

Get thumb and fingers working together and synced is a real achievement.

Sweed

That's some sweet picking going on there my friend. Boy the whole thing looks really comfortable and smooth and a good vocal delivery. Great job on an old classic.

Cheers

@ LBro

Thanks appreciate your comments.  Yeah, the pick noise seems to sort itself out the more I play.  Very slight changes in hand position have helped, most of that done without consciously thinking about it.  Just kind of happens.  I do like finger picking so yeah, if I can find something I want to try sure.  But like most of us there is a lot of things I want to play and I have had a couple songs in mind that don't use finger picks.  So certainly will do more just not sure how soon.

Wow! A lot of hours. It’s been worth it though, you’ve put the work in and it’s paid off. One thing I’ve learned in my 5 years with the guitar is that something that looks so far out of reach technically can be achieved if you’re prepared to graft - you prove it with your picking. Well done!
