Nice one Hilts, great performance considering how long you’ve been learning it, forget about flubs, as David said carrying on playing is THE golden rule and you’ve overcome that one nicely 👍👍👍
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟

Very nice hilts. Good consistent playing. There is room for some dynamics i.e. accenting on the strumming but that comes with practice and time. Vocal nice and steady too. Good song choice for you.

Thanks for sharing, Hilts. I always enjoying watching your performances, and this was spot on. Didn't noticed any flubs, as others have said. I also noticed some similarity in the chord progression to Cash's Ring of Fire -- especially the G moving to the quick C, then back to G again...am I crazy there? Of course, there are only about a million other songs with a similar chord progression. I just noticed that quick move a a similarity. I wasn't familiar with this song and now want to check out the original.

@ Darrell & Rossco

Thanks so much for listening and I'm glad you found it enjoyable.

@phx1973

Tosh, nope you're not crazy. I've played it a couple ways. One with the quick change ending on the G and one just ending on C. I think both sound good. For sure, check out The Monkees original. It is really a very pretty song. Not what you typically expect from them. Their entire 2016 album is pretty good actually.  Thanks for listening and the nice comments.

Great performance, despite the red light syndrome (of which I am a victom myself). In fact, I think I would have hardly noticed if not for your comment.

I really loved the melody and where the chord changes go, it's a lovely song and you've done a great job!

The style really suits your voice too! Top job!

Strumming was really even and produced a great sound.

@ fox, oldhead & Danni

Thanks so much for listening and the kind comments. Glad you all liked. It really does have a nice melody to it.

Red light syndrome is funny. I've had songs where it took 20+ takes before I was somewhat satisfied. Yesterday, I recorded another song which took 3 or 4 takes. Sometimes it's the stupidest thing that makes me kill a take. It may be something that perhaps would go unnoticed but it's enough for me to stop. Then there's the senior moments where I forget to change chords. DOH!

LOL gues that makes me a senior then  ;D I can add to that, based on my latest, there also those moments when I forgot to sing.

Hi Hilts...

Really liked this one from you.  I didn't hear the flubs, just enjoyed the performance.  Solid rhythm on the guitar , good vocal, and a good song.  Well done :)

The ability to keep playing without it all falling apart after a flub is a great ability to develop,  Hilts.

This ability is really handy when you start playing live! :)

Well done hilts! I was looking forward to hearing a new recording of yours :)

PS:
Something that may help with RBS:
I only press the red button once and stop when I was somewhat content with the last go-through. I prefer this method over recording each take separately, because you'll eventually 'forget' about the camera :)

Nice playing on this one Hilts, really relaxed. I hadn't heard the song before but I did enjoy your cover.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and comment. Glad everyone has enjoyed it.

Max, I will definitely try your tip for RBS on my next recording. It does make sense that one would forget about it after a while.

Hilts, Really fine sounding performance.  Didn't really notice any RLS.  It's really fun listening to your recordings since you've got the vocal up.  Sounds very good.
