Katana 50 panel & channel buttons
« on: February 11, 2019, 11:38:53 am »
Hi Guys
I'm struggling a bit with the channel & panel buttons on my K50. I've downloaded the latest firmware so I'm up to date there.
I don't understand how to change from bank A to bank B. The instructions say to hold down the panel button when any of the channel buttons are selected. But if you select a channel button, surely that puts you onto one of your presets or a patch if you've loaded one on.
Also the new firmware implies you now have 2 presets on each channel. How do you access them without moving from bank A to bank B? The buttons seem to do the same thing.
Sorry if this sounds a bit garbled - it's hard to explain in words!

Well, yes. Is that a problem? In typical use you would have either CH1 or CH2 selected anyway. In which case, just hold down the panel button to switch between bank A and bank B.

You don't!

The 2 presets are bank A and bank B.

So, in summary...

In earlier firmware versions you had a single bank with 2 channels: CH1 & CH2

Now you have 2 selectable banks: Bank A and Bank B. In each bank there are two channels: CH1 & CH2.

This gives you 4 permutations of bank and channel, each of which can hold a different preset.

That's it!

Does that make it clearer?

Cheers,

U go from bank A to bank B with your PANEL-button. And to the channels with the CH1 and CH2 buttons.

Panel constant red: Panel settings. (turn knobs any way u want)

Panel light off. One of the CH light red (bank 1, ch1 or ch2)
Panel light Blinking. one of CH light red (bank 2, ch1 or 2)

Ergo: u have 4 channels, one panel-setting.

(disclaimer: might be reversed, bank two is light off, and bank one is blinking).
