Massive JAM fan strumming help
« on: February 06, 2019, 09:13:02 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I'm about halfway through Justin's Intermediate Course ( Thanks Justin ) I love all The Jam songs I've bought a book with all the Chords in to a lot of their songs...but there is absolutely no clue on the strumming patterns...

Is it because I'm trying to "Run before I can Walk"..

There isn't much online either to go off..which I find surprising seeing as how influential there music was, or at least in my opinion.

Any Comments advice would be gratefully received.

Use you ears. Listen to their music and strum along. That's the best way.
Your better of using the book as mkre of a guide. Most books are writen
for piano and not alway in the right key.
I'm not familiar with theirmusic so I check out some of their youtube videos.
Pretty easy stuff. Good band to start learning to transcribe from. You'll learn
more doing that than any book.

i'd suggest getting Justin's RUST 1 and 2 courses to really get 1/4 1/8 1/6th strumming patterns and all possible patterns down. And then listen to the Jam tracks again. Having the RUST lessons and patterns under your finger tips, you should be able to improvise a match to Mr Weller and Co are playing. 8)
