The Katana is a superb amp and is very versatile so would be a very good option, it won’t give you the feel and sound like the HT1R but it’s very good and most would say that its advantages outweigh any disadvantages, all in all you won’t find anything better or as versatile at the price.
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟

The Katana 50 has a 12" speaker and open back cabinet, compared to the HT1R 8" speaker and closed back cabinet, so if "boxiness" is your issue, the Katana *should* sound better.

But, as always, preferences are preferences and the HT1R is a great amp. Ideally you should aim to test them in person.

Cheers,

Keith

Sounds like a plan to audition the HT1R and Katana.
Thanks all for the input 👍
