Can't Change Profile Avatar

I'm getting the following error when trying to upload a new avatar to my profile. The file is a .gif if that makes any difference.

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved"

It's a known problem, Hilts, and as I recall Close2u/Lieven said at some point that it was not within their ability to fix it.  I suspect it is an issue that needs to be addressed on the server that hosts the Forum hosting application...sounds like directory permissions incorrectly set.

Hi,

Go to the admin panel and click on attachments and avatars then change directory to:
/home/nameofhomedirectory/public_html/community/attachments
That should do the trick. Failing that check the forum/server error log. What is it set at? If not 775 or 755 (maybe set at 777?) then try either 775 or 755. Just a thought.

Kind regards,
Rufus
