Dead links
« on: November 20, 2018, 07:38:16 am »
I have said it earlier, but I try one more time. There are several (lots?) of dead links to youtube videos ('original songs'). I have also experienced a dead link to one of Justin's own videos (can't remember where).

I guess Justin, or the web site administrator, want to fix it (?), so maybe there should be a thread where we can report dead links? Or is there already a place where we can do that?

I just realized the admin may not be able to see if there is a problem with a link, because it can be local to a region. Here are a few dead links, with the reason.

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/noah-and-the-whale-5-years-time-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-127 (This video has content from UMG. It is not available.)

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/starsailor-silence-is-easy-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-194 (The uploader has not made this video available in your country.)

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/the-kingsmen-louie-louie-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-202 (The YouTube account associated with this video has been closed due to a number of third-party notices regarding copyright infringement.)

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/the-beatles-twist-and-shout-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-207 (This video is not available.)

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/john-lennon-working-class-hero-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-310 (This video is not available.)

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/tom-waits-downtown-train-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-321 (This video contains material from WMG, which has blocked it for copyright reasons.)

Many thanks for taking the time to report this.

There is a place to report web site errors … here

Justin and the web tech guys do look and fix periodically.

There is also a Report A Problem button on every webpage on the site.
If this isn't showing up on your device then I guess that would also be a problem

No, the only problem is me. I have actually tried* to report a dead link using this button, but I completely forgot that, when I asked if there already is a place to report such things. My fail.

But maybe the Report A Problem button needs to be more visible? I mean, I can't be the first to notice the dead links, but no-one has apparently reported it? Or has it been reported, but just not fixed yet?

*) reCAPTCHA is a pain in the a..  I gave up after 10 sets of images.
