Danni, these topics are for Justin's Christmas Song Book which I own a copy of. The book is broken down into chapters if you will.

Songs that are easiest to play, "Play On Christmas Day"
Songs that take a wee bit more practise, "Learn in December"
And even more practise, "Learn in November"

It's a great song book.

All I want for Christmas Is You.
My barre chords aren’t good enough for this so I’m trying it with open chords. But Eflatdim7!! Where did that one come from? In the book Justin has a chord diagram for it at fret 6, but in the video he seems to play it at fret 5 and calls it Dsharpdim7. I know D sharp and E flat are the same thing but why are the chords different?

Hi sairfingers that's a d7 he's playing in the video at the 5th fret. Its just one beat on the e flat so blink and you'll miss it. I just play an e flat for this rather than the dim7. At first I did it because it was easier but I actually think it sounds better. You could try it s a powerchord at the 6th fret if you're not comfortable with A shape Barre chords.  Good luck

Thanks for your advice Garfield. Maybe this one’s too much for me at my beginner level. Just wanting some Christmas singalong stuff. I’ll keep at it but can’t help thinking it’s a lot of practise time for songs that are only any use for a couple of weeks of the year! 🎅

Update: I’ve got through my bah humbug moment! Yes, E flat (D#) works well. I’m using the simple version xxx343 which makes the whole thing a lot easier. Maybe next Christmas I’ll be able to try Justin’s jazzy version.  Thanks again for your advice.

Let It Snow.
Learn in November. Maybe November of the previous year! There’s a lot more to some of these Christmas songs than you think. I’m having to really simplify this one and miss out chords like Ebdim!

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.
I’m at it again, trying to simplify Justin’s arrangements! Please remember I’m a beginner and am addressing these comments to other beginners!

The C - C6 - Cmaj7 - C6 line can be made easier if you play Am instead of C6 and only play strings 1234.
Missing out the F#dim7 and going from F to B7 makes that line easier too.
I love the Gaug at the end of the verse!
