Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer
« on: September 26, 2018, 04:18:12 pm »
I picked one up.  It's only my 3rd pedal I've bought.  Been messing with it for little over a month.  What other effect did Stevie Ray Vaughan use on Cold Shot?  I can't quite get a good tone.   What drive setting is best for Cold Shot?  I'm using a Gretsch G2622 on the bridge pickup since I "think" I need a brighter sound.

Hey there,

First thing is learning how to properly dial in whatever amp you have as well as the TS9.
I really recommend you check out this video:

Secondly, I hate to let gear be an excuse - but you ARE perhaps going to have a hard time getting that particular tone on a Gretsch humbucker guitar. Stevie did play Fenders and single coils (AFAIK). But give it a shot (pun intended) and see if you can dial in your amp to get some brightness out of what you have ;)

Cheers,
Kasper
