Beautiful stuff there Dave. Very melodic phrasings. What I really liked about it was your use of dynamics. Brilliant really.
Glad you picked up on the dynamics, Bala. That’s one thing you can do in something this repetitive to change it up a little and sound different.  Thanks

Haha. I hear you.  I’m officially on hiatus you know. I was playing my AS73 and thought it had the right sound for this so gave it a try. Thanks. And, please, quit calling me sir. I know I’ll be 70 in a few months, but...  my name is Dave. Thank you.

First, I think you all have done a phenominal job of it.
This is one of the hardest progressions for me for some reason, and to go on and on without sounding
repetitive is very difficult.  I've varied it up some by interludes of comping the chords.

Lovely job, Dave, such a gentle touch on this piece.  As always great phrasing, feel and tone.  Glad you joined the game ...

Great job oldhead sir Dave :)

Especially like the chords you played over the backing track, great addition!

Haha.  Yeah, Dave is fine.  Thanks for the comments.  I was struggling trying to break this one up and chords seemed to help.

Wow, really enjoyed listening to this one, everybody’s got an interesting take with some really quite stellar bits. This is a great chord progression, ton of songs in this progression. I might even be inspired to give this one a go, even though I will be way off on the initial timing of the challenge.

Thanks Mari. Glad you dropped in and appreciated everybody just giving it a go.

I say go for it. I can feel myself becoming more comfortable as I take on each challenge and it's loads of fun.

My first crack at one of the challenges. I'm going to try and do a few of these. My licks feel pretty repetitive in this one, hard to get out of the same ruts with backing tracks sometimes.

Check it out any feedback appreciated. I can't seem to embed the soundcloud link in the post

Mike, that sounded pretty good to me.  Tone was good.  Lots of interesting ideas. I enjoyed it.

If I was to offer anything to think about, very much with a novice improviser's perspective, it would be to consider adding in some space between licks and phrases.  It felt a little like the notes flowed continuously mostly at a steady tempo.  Maybe some notes with longer sustain or even a quiet moment.  That said, this seems to be a thing the majority of us having a go at this improv challenges have to work at.

Oh and the SoundCloud embedding tag doesn't work ... it's a known bug.  So hype link as you did it is the way.

Fine work and look forward to more.

I'm a fairly new member - but have been playing guitar for 3 years now, and this improv challenge is interesting to me.  But where are the responses posted?  I see that lots of people read this post, but I don't see any responses.
