amplitube settings for Justins guitar and amp?
« on: June 11, 2018, 12:52:12 pm »
Can anyone suggest some settings in amplitube to get a similar sound to Justins guitar in these lessons?

Oops sorry. I thought I had posted this in the section about his blues lessons.
So I’m talking about the sound from his sunburst Suhr telecaster style guitar he plays in his Blues lead course.

What guitar are you playing, it will make a difference?
Justin’s telecaster is no ordinary Tele, it’s more like a custom shop (or better) model, I had a Squier classic vibe Tele that was supposed to be good - it didn’t anywhere near compare, however how close do you really want to get?
I think he plays the blues stuff through a Fender amp, take a look here:

My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟

Sorry I got that wrong too. I meant Justins Suhr Stratocaster. I play a Classic vibe 60s Strat and I dont expect to get an exact tone, but just find it easier to learn if I can get close.

Im currently using the Fender supersonic amp from Amplitube and whilst it does seem close The tone doesnt seem right. Thanks for the link. I will check it out

Best Fender amps I know of are the Bassman or the ‘65 super reverb or if you can find a patch of a Dumble (the best ever blues amp!), it should be reasonably close.

In the videos I have watched the guitar tone has a sort of "modern gain" sound to my ears, so a Super-Sonic should get close.

My Mustang amp also has a Super-Sonic model, but for the life of me I cannot get it to sound good. Something is going on with the two Gain controls so that the result always sounds like me as a teenager trying to sound like Black Sabbath. Even my Valvestate sounded better  :o I don't know how the Amplitube model behaves, but it might be easier to use another Fender amp model + overdrive pedal.
Guitars: Chevy LP-C (1991), Squier VM Jaguar (2015)
Amp: Fender Mustang I v2 (2015)
