I'm going backwards
« on: June 01, 2018, 12:50:50 pm »
I seem to be going backwards with my one minute changes. The more I practice the slower and sloppier I am getting. Where am I going wrong?

It happens!

Sometimes it is due to over practicing to the point where it gets to feel stale.

I've been there too and I stopped for a few days and did something else - songs in my case.
Then when I came back to the 1MCs I found I was much better at them than I remembered. Mind you I still have to concentrate on some of the tricky ones.

Above all, keep on enjoying playing otherwise there's no point.
Guitars - Ovation Celebrity, Revelation RJT60Q.
Amplifiers -Marshall G30R CD, Fender Super Champ 25 SE, Laney A Fresco.

Yes, i have to absolutely agree with MrBumble...

This has happened to me before too. The key thing is not to worry about it. That will make it worse, as you will begin to doubt yourself. Let it rest for a few days (as said by MrBumble), concentrate on something else you are learning atm and come back when you feel you're ready. (For me that moment has arrived when i stop feeling bad about my poor progress. But that just me).

I'll get it in the end. Just don't give up, that's the key....

I sometimes find that the changes start to go down hill during a longish run on one combination. Mostly I find that this is due to wandering concentration. Other times when there is a day-to-day deterioration, I think it is mostly due to being bored with change. So like others have suggested, move on to something different for a while and then come back to it.

Let us know how that progress is going later on, ok?
