Nut fell off while changing strings
« on: May 13, 2018, 04:31:28 pm »
While I was changing strings on my acoustic today, the nut fell off when I took the old strings off.  The only glue I had was PVA, so I put a little bit of that on the nut.  I would just like a bit of reassurance that this won’t damage my guitar. PVA is such a weak glue, I hope it will be alright, but I just want to be sure.

It's wood glue. Your guitar is made of wood.

It'll be fine, just don't overdo it.

Believe me, PVA is not a weak glue. Unless water touches it.

Ok, thanks. I didn’t use too much.
