IM 149 'string skipping'
« on: March 11, 2018, 08:31:45 am »
Hi

I am at IM 149 'Foundation 4 practice schedule & goals' where Justin mentions
"Be able to play the the string skipping exercise accurately at about 60 bpm (prefer with a metronome!)"
Can anyone tell me which lesson covers 'string skipping' or am getting it confused with something else. I thought he might be refering to the 'building melodic patterns' lesson - but thats not really skipping strings as such. Or maybe its a DVD lesson, which I dont have yet! Thanks.

Hey clembo, that's a bit of a puzzler.
I've gone in search and not found much in the way of explicit reference to string skipping ...

There's this:
https://www.justinguitar.com/en/IM-156-PickedFingerstyle.php

But that's from IM foundation 5 and you're looking at foundation 4.
I'll get on to it.

Hi,
Im currently on Stage 5 of the IM,  and I think It is just a mistake. In the goals for IM Stage 4 it says to be able to play the String skipping exercise. But that exercise is covered in the Foundation 5, in the lesson Close linked for you.

So just leave that one Goal for the next Stage.

Looks like I made a mistake... I think I know what exercise it refers to but can't find it in the course :) oops!

Sorry for any confusion, well spotted and will correct shortly!
