Unable to bend the last joint on my ring finger
« on: February 17, 2018, 08:34:25 pm »
Hi
I have just decided to learn how to play the guitar, by watching justins YouTube videos. I have noticed that I cannot bend the last joint on my ring finger more than about 10 degrees which is hindering me massively when trying to play the d major chord as i keep touching the two strings with that finger. It is strange because i can bend my right ring finger alot more. When i say beginner, i mean i have only just picked a guitar up so have never noticed i have this disability before. I have literally tried forcing it to bend with my other hand but it is as if my joint has not developed properly or something. Is there any way i can get around this? It is really annoying because I cannot fret the strings with the tip of that finger like i can the others!

Try fingering the B string with your pinkie.
