Beginner - Need help purchasing first ukulele
« on: January 23, 2018, 05:01:22 am »
Hi everyone.  New here.  My name is Danny and I've had an interest in the last year or so to learn how to play the ukulele.  Found Jason's site and had a look around.  Pretty cool.  Can't wait to get into it.  Just have to find a ukulele.  Would like to spend under $100.  I've searched the forum for first ukulele, ukulele suggestion, ukulele recommendation, inexpensive ukulele and beginner ukulele.  Came up with nothing except one thread that mentioned Lanikai LU-21 and Kala KA-S as good starter ukulele's.  Any other suggestions?

I haven't used this but monoprice has an inexpensive one ($30) which is very highly reviewed: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=610300

Monoprice is great - don't let the low price dissuade you.

Here you go, I would choose a Concert size rather than Soprano for a beginner, they are a bit bigger so easier to get your fingers on the frets.
Choice of two really good offers, both of which I know are good quality:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005ETZG6K/ref=mp_s_a_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1516785682&sr=1-23&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6145588011%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A404228011%2Cp_36%3A1253547011%2Cp_72%3A1248939011&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ukulele
And
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06WVN4F8W/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1516785753&sr=1-15&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6145588011%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A404228011%2Cp_36%3A1253547011%2Cp_72%3A1248939011&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ukulele&dpPl=1&dpID=51-9xmHmGrL&ref=plSrch
It’s a good idea to go for these offers when you are starting off because you don’t need to buy anything else.
The price you pay for the extras is minimal, if you got them separately they would be a lot more.
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟
