I never had any issue with drivers or latency, but I'm not on Windows (I connect it to a Linux system running a real-time kernel).

FTW!!!

I have one more question - should I use different kind of XLR cable for connecting microphone to the interface and different for connecting my amp's direct out to the interface? Or is it interchangeable?

If your amp has an XLR out, it should be the same cable. However, you may want to make sure that phantom power on your interface is off for that input.

What about the HI-Z switch, should it be on or off when using XLR out on amp?

Off.

Hi-Z (high impedance) is for low-level instrument signals, such as those from guitar pickups.

The output from a guitar amp is a line-level output, and doesn't need a high-impedance input.
