Love it, Lynn, my kind of playfulness and a great drawing.

Look forward to these as much as your musical collaborations with Keith.

Yes. One of them. Haha.

It's Nina Simone.

Good one. A fair likeness based on a quick Google image search.

You're really getting into the drawing,  producing some good looking work.

Do miss your playing and singing  ;)

Hi Davidp (I know you'll for sure see this, haha) and anyone else who wonders over here!

I started painting last week. I tried to paint when I was about 12 and convinced myself I couldn't do it, and other than that, and a few watercolors in high school, I've never painted before.

These are my first two. They're egg tempera, because I liked the idea of making my own paint. It is indeed really fun. I'm pretty happy with the results. You'll recognize one of them from the drawing it evolved from.

Haha, I usually do call you David, I just used your formal name to avoid confusing some other David.

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate that. Yes, I kept it simple and focused. Interesting experience, for sure. I'll be doing some more soon.

My latest paintings, a self portrait, and a portrait of Frida Kahlo, done in egg tempera. I'm really enjoying the medium. The process of mixing the pigments with the egg yolk is very Zen. I have a set of  12 colors which has been really wonderful to start with. I sit up in my attic under the skylight for hours. My guitar's right there if the inspiration strikes. But I usually paint in silence during the day, and play guitar at night when the house comes alive. Haha.

Keith has been painting, too, and already has a painting that's going to be used as a poster for an organization he submitted it to. Yay!
