Thanks David, it was fun to paint and I learned so much. It's my favourite painting by Edward Hopper.

Hi,

Fine copy of the original, Keith.
Really enjoyed the way in which you capture the despair in the subjects face.
Maybe a 'Scousers moll' waiting to catch the train home from Molineux tonight. ::) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

What with you and Lynn edjumikaytioning us in fine art I feel just about ready to offer my services to The Tate,.............That is the Tate & Lyle by the way. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Kind regards,
Rufus

I had to look up Tate and Lyle. You Englishmen. Haha.

Keith gave me a talking to today. Called me lazy. Said I needed to get cracking. He didn't said it in so many words, but I knew what he meant.

So, Rufus, guess what I did?  Can you?

I painted a self portrait. I bet you didn't guess.

Here it is:

Hi,

Hud ov thunkit!!  :P ;) ;D ;D

Two things -
Firstly - what's the new job if it isn't painting 'Fenders'? ;D
Secondly - the painting, in my opinion, is very thought provoking and very possibly my new 'bestest' favourite.
I can't remember there being a time when I became so lost in paintings. Being a layman I never really took the same level of interest in paintings before other than to appreciate the talent of any given artist, but what with 'knowing' you and Keith (albeit not personally) I have become hungry. I spend ages looking at the paintings and coming around to what I see. (Not always what is in front of me either) ;D ;D ;D
I was a gantry crane operator in one of Keiths fine pieces. Well I was!!  ;D
This latest painting is mind blowingly good. I sat and viewed/stared at it for ages - even to the point of writing an 'in the mind' screenplay based around it. Oh, wait - 'Little House on the Prairie' has been done before, right?

Kind regards,
Rufus

Superb Lynn.

Especially liked the colouring of the walls, the fabric of the kimono, the flow of hair to shoulders to arms, and light playing through kimono round your legs.

I'm with Rufus, took some guesses on that new job ... time to reveal, me thinks.

Thanks Rufus and David. I'm so pleased you like it!

You'll have to wait a little longer to find out what I'm doing for work. Hopefully I'll be able to reveal it with a picture within the next few weeks. I'm still training. I can say that I already love it and it's really fun.

Thanks again for commenting,
Lynn

Sorry! But a picture is worth a thousand words. It'll be better if I show you.

I hope you're not too disappointed. It's not that exciting. It's actually kind of old fashioned.

Thanks Rufus. I certainly learnt a lot from painting her. Hopper is such a great artist to study. Good win for you last night. Liverpool were woeful.

Tate Modern and tate Britain are really fine galleries. I could spent weeks in them looking at pictures.

Well, this is a bit of a cheat because I only painted the outside of this one. Haha. It'll be a while before I get to do the sound board (which is the part with the flowers and birds).

Do you know what this is???? It's why I thought Darrell would know after posting the Strangler's song.

Got me beat, Lynn.  Some kind of piano-like instrument.  Looks impressive, whatever it is :)

Hmm, a Harpsichord maybe - so are you doing the decorative parts of Harpsichords?
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟

Hi,

Could it be painting the 'housing' of a Grand Piano or a Harpsichord or an Archicembalo or a Clavicymbalum or a Spinet or a Clavicytherium or a Piano or a Fortepiano or Tangent piano?
Just guessing!

I dream of having a workshop like the one in the picture, but the one in the picture is very high class.
I would settle for a kettle to boil the water for my 'Pot Noodle' but the one shown has a 'ping-ping'.
Jealous much? >:( :D ;D ;D

Kind regards,
Rufus
