010 Dec Away in a Manger
« on: December 05, 2017, 12:48:10 am »
After a few unsuccessful attempts on a few other Christmas songs, I settled on this one.  Clare, I couldn't get "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" down.  Nor could I do "Santa Baby" or "Mary, Do You Know".

So here is what I chose.

So pretty. Loved it. Strumming pattern sounded really nice. Can't beat your voice, it's just lovely.

Classic carol! Not that I am a fan of xmas carols, but your version has a peculiar, kind of western-country vibe which I like, and your voice as Lynn said is just lovely.

I am a fan of Christmas carols, especially when well sung which this is.

I like the country swing you have with this arrangement. Very nice indeed!

And thank you also to Fox Cunning, DavidP, MrBumble, & embishop!  Love the compliments about my voice and Country feel I give it.  As stated in another post, I also wish for an Indie/modern folk sound too. If only I can!

Wow, Pam, that's great.  My first thought was Loretta Lynn.  Nice job on guitar and very nice voice track.  I really enjoyed that.  You had a nice balance with guitar/vocal.  Nice job.

Wow! Oldhead49. Thanks for the compliment!  I had dual tracks - one, vocal/guitar, and two, guitar. That seemed to help the ability to
raise or lower the guitar volume.

AIAM is a horrible carol and I've never heard or even imagined a country and western version. So on paper I should've hated it!

BUT, your voice rescued it. You sounded a little less certain of yourself but even so the tone of your voice is just lovely.

That was really nice pkboo. I was kind of caught off guard intially as I expected the version I am used too. But this was lovely. Beautifully sung and nice accompaniment on the guitar. Enjoyed it.

Umm, thanks John256...I think.   Curious as to why you think it’s a bad carol. But at least you liked my voice. That’s a good thing!

Thanks kontenda!  How does the version you know go?  Are the words different, or the melody?  Glad you liked it though.
