Practicing Rhythm With A Drum Machine - Any Advice
« on: November 13, 2017, 09:02:17 pm »
Hi - I've just seen a couple of videos Close put up which recommended practicing rhythm guitar with a drum machine. Does anyone have any experience of this. E.g. Is it better than playing along to songs or practicing with a metronome? Are they easy to use (plug and play)? I'm guessing you choose a drum rhythm / pattern and then choose a strumming pattern to play along to it? Will they 'plug in' to any half decent amp? (As you can see I know nothing about drum machines or use of but if it's going to be a big help I'll get one and fire away). Lots of questions there!!!

You should be able to get a fair number of drum beat apps on most smartphones. Loopz is quite a good one.

If your amp has an aux input, then you should be able to connect just about anything to it, including your smartphone.

Cheers,
