That was great, I really liked it! And very clever too!! Great job on both singing and playing, and the lyrics shine. Nice way to support your friend and share a few smiles.

Thankyou Emi for your lovely, warm response. Much appreciated.

You know I've just realised who this style reminds me of - when I was a kid I used to love this guy, only us oldies will know him....

Yep I remember him. I think he also sings A Frog Went Courting. Don't have time to search for it but have a vague memory of seeing it. I wonder should I take up cigar smoking to get the effect?

Nah. Having things hangin' out of your mouth has never done anyone anything good. I'm still trying to erase the picture in my head of Stevie Ray Vaughan playing with a pipe in his mouth! Not good at all.

Nope, don't take up smoking, cigars stink!!!

That was probably the height of cool back in 1985 - how things change.

Batwoman I'm all apologies. I've been meaning to listen to this all week. Have you taken it down? It says unavailable. Could be me I don't seem to get on very well with soundcloud.

Ha ha, but perhaps cigar smoking would give me an interesting, gravelly voice?

Hi Gareth, It's still there. I just checked the link and it worked for me. It's marked 'private' so I don't think it will work to do a search. I don't know enough about SoundCloud to make a helpful suggestion sorry.

I don't know if this will help. I've logged into the account and copied another link. Try this one.

I've listened! Work laptop managed to play it, I think my phone has got a problem.

Anyway very good.  It's great to finally hear you. Well sung and well played, I thought that you varied the strumming really well which gave it a lot of character. I've got a lot of admiration for anyone that can write a song - borrowed tune or not. In fact I don't think I've have realised it was froggy goes a courting if you hadn't said.

Look forward the next one.

Thanks a lot Gareth. I wish I could be as relaxed as you are when you play and sing! The song writing was easy because I was doing it for a purpose and to my delight, it really helped. Now I'm writing a song for another dear friend who turns 70 in November. She's one of the most amazing, awe-inspiring humans I know. She's refusing to let any of us celebrate her birthday so she's getting a song ha ha. I'm going to write the melody for this one too.
