Android apps for guitar players - recommendations
« on: July 24, 2017, 10:04:38 am »
My laptop died and my 10 year old PC is on it's last legs.
But I am getting up to date.
I have just got my first tablet thanks to receiving a gift voucher recently.
 :)
It runs on Android Marshmallow and I have plenty of storage potential with an SD card option.
I have not used any apps previously on my  iPhone as the memory was too limiting.
I'm looking for recommendations for great apps.

Song charts & chord / lyric sheets.

Recording.

Music players (Spotify is pre-installed but I'm not sure they pay a fair deal to artists).

Other / miscellaneous ...

I use these:
Songster - tabs and lyrics
Music speed changer - does what it says (no pitch alteration)
Media converter - to change to compatible files
Smartchord - the Swiss army knife ;)
Tubemate - to download YT music I want to learn without keep having to go on YT
HTH
My singing sucks so I’m learning Guitar and Ukulele, it’s fun 🌟

VLC
Plex
VoiceRecorder

Just go the apps or Bing / Google and type in the subject you want like chord finder or music theory. Generally speaking the highest rated apps really are the best ones. ... and the paid ( reasonable say under $15 ) are better then the free version.

There are several scanner apps that get surprisingly good results. Say you saw a music chart, or piece of TAB in a magazine or whatever. You can aim your camera at it and it will capture it and create a PDF. Then you can adjust it to square it up and correct the lighting.. really fast and works unbelievably well.

Security Master - don't let your device get all clogged up with junk and potential virus malware.
