Free Web App to create practice routines
« on: June 14, 2017, 11:37:31 am »
Hello everyone,

I'm currently building a free web app that allows you to define exercises and then build practice routines out of them. I'm getting close to launching the MVP and I'd like to know what you guys think about it.
The main goal is to provide an app that consolidates all the various tools required to practice, i.e. a metronome, a timer, keeping track of your progress.
When you assign an exercise to a practice routine you also specify how long you want to practice that particular exercise for. In the practice view that then gets used to automatically configure the stopwatch. As soon as the stopwatch reaches 00:00 the current metronome value gets saved so that the next time you practice this exercise the metronome is already set to that value.

Here are a couple of screenshots:

Let me know what you guys think!

I can't get the links to show up, anyone know what's up with that? They're hosted on imgur.

Edit: Ok it had to do with the minimum post requirement. I replace the images with links instead.

You asked us what we thought. My first impression is that you are close to stepping on Justin's toes & using his forum to advertise it. Intentions are all well and good but perception drives human reactions

It's unfortunate that this is your first impression since I'm absolutely not trying to drive any users away from Justin's site. Justinguitar was actually a pretty big reason I even build this site; because I wanted to give back to the community. It's not a paid site.

I'm sorry if this is in bad taste.

@ksa

What would you think if someone showed up on your site unannounced and their first post
was pushing a new site or app. Not a good way to make a good first impression.

Your intention may be good but your approach need a little work.

Using Justin's Idea of a free site isn't really giving back to the community.
Joining the community that already exists and sharing your experiences and knowledge is giving
back.

I noticed you had no trouble finding the thread to boost your post so you could post links but the
Introduce Yourself thread seems to have escaped you.
