« on: June 04, 2017, 06:31:32 pm »
hi, I'm just looking at a finger pick lesson and i notice something,it looks like cloth perhaps, on justins guitar. just below the sound hole, any ideas? i haven't progressed to this stage yet but was intrigued, didn't see anything to explain it. just another puzzle of the world i suppose.
cheers

Justin used to have fake nails and they made a clicking noise on the pick guard so he stuck felt to the pick guard.

The only video I find for this is the explanation of the black wrap between the nut and the tuning pegs which mutes the strings there. The OP is asking about the cloth below the sound hole on the pick guard. Stitch explains it's purpose. The felt piece can clearly be seen on Justin's Maton acoustic in the song lesson for Three Little Birds (as well as many other lessons)
