May the Gods of R & R...
« on: May 08, 2017, 10:50:32 am »
Justin used the phrase "May the Gods..." when doing the Mariah Cary song All I Want for Christmas and it's an appropriate one for me to use in my post as I'm going to ask about an equally un rock like song: You Are by Dolly Parton.
Turns out this is the song of choice of my future son in law for the first wedding dance and my daughter has asked me to perform it.
I'm struggling to think of a suitable strumming rhythm. Anyone here prepared to help me?
Don't suggest trying to change their minds I've tried.

That is a...... well, very romantic song..... :o
From how I am hearing it, it is tricky to not play fingerstyle and hybrid picking. I am not sure strumming is going to fit that song too well. I do not have a guitar around to test it though.
