Toto Africa strumming pattern?
« on: April 30, 2017, 10:19:15 pm »
Can anybody tell me what the strumming pattern is for Toto's Africa?
It's shown from about 2m30s in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLrC7e3vSv8

I know I need to work on my rhythm recognition as it's something I'm really useless at, but I'd like to be able to play this song.

Thanks.

I love that version they did.

It's 16th note strumming, pretty much repeating the pattern below, sneaking in a strum here and there.
D---DUDU
This is across half a bar. I have no idea what the exact chords are, but you play the above pattern once for every chord.

I hope that makes sense. :)
Guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano, bass and percussion only when needed
