001 Feb 2017 What a Wonderful World
« on: February 27, 2017, 04:10:30 pm »
I posted a version of this song previously but this is a new recording in a different key and slightly modified arrangement and I think that's fine?

I'm fairly happy with it though it's not perfect... but when is it ever? I figure I've been doing this long enough to ask for more critical feedback.

Hi John,

Beautiful song.
Like the way you've made it your own.
Guitar sounds very good.

Lovely clear tone on your playing John, which in turn sounded pretty tight to me. Vocal nice and clear, would have sounded nice with double tracking and a bit of depth to thicken it slightly imho. Great entry and well done

Super stuff John. Loved the guitar arrangement and the clear picking. I agree with @rossco01 about the vocal depth but that's a minor niggle imho. Lovely entry.

I like your creative approach.
This is a very personal and accomplished cover.

The break and high notes around 2:10; was that completely your idea?
that was cool :)

Even more.

I would like to learn this in this version as well.

Would you mind sharing the arrangement with me?

Hey John

Nice playing, consisting and nice arrangement of chords. I'd have gone for a little more reverb on the geetar and the vocal, but maybe that's just taste.

About 1:30 in a felt like it could have done with another layer, either simple guitar strums or string pad or something... just to lift it and drop it back before the verse at 2 mins.

But this is production stuff - performance was great! Well done! :)
