Gospel Blues Slides
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:47:31 pm »
Hi Everybody,

I'm just getting in to the gospel blues and I have a question concerning the slides:
What ist the best way to use the thumb of the lebt hand  in the neck?
Should the thumb be stationary or do you slide the thumb together with the other fingers?

Thanks!
Chris

Well I can only say what I do. My inclination is to keep the thumb stationary, but to allow it to rotate to accommodate the movement of the hand.
However looking at the video I made a while ago:

I see that I kept my thumb stationary for the first slide and moved it for the second, so I would say try both and see what works best for you.
