Jammin the Major scale
« on: January 22, 2017, 08:43:51 am »

I have purchased the Intermediate Method DVD. There is a pdf called IM-DVD-1B JamMajor with Justin.
Where is the G Major scale backing track?

I know he G major scale in Pattern1. Do I play it while listening to the G major scale backing track? Do i play it exactly the same? Do I change the notes around? Justine has written alot about this but what should it sound like when you "jam on it ".

Thanks Chriscl

Hi Chriscl
welcome to the forum.
 :)

Jam Major backing tracks: here

To jam, you simply experiment playing the scale pattern you have learned.
Play some notes together, little runs - what sounds good? what sounds musical?
Play one note and repeat it over the chord changes - when does it sound sweet / when sour? What chords were playing at those times?
Use the scale to make melodic noises. Just have fun with it.
