D'Addario EXP19
« on: April 28, 2016, 01:00:26 pm »
Bought a set off these to put on my yamamha FG700s as the strings are really dirty looking ! And E chord sounds dead

Anyone else played with these?

When changing strings best to do one at time or do the lot at same time! Its nice guitar this and don't want to mess it up

Loosen the strings one at a time - don't cut them with tension on the strings. Then replace all of them one at a time. This is a video of me replacing the strings on my acoustic guitar. It has a pinless bridge and will likely be slightly different than your guitar.. but the concept will be the same..

Since I bought the Yamaha FG700s haven't really played it as been waiting to change strings ( they are dead and dirty)  bought some lemon oil to clean fret board because it really does need a good clean !  For me to clean fret board 100% will need to remove all strings?

After this one is done going to do my martin dx1  :)

You don't have to.. But you probably should. It will be a lot easier, and you won't get lemon oil all over the strings..

Just watched this the other day and found it interesting. It's pretty reasonable advice....and some rambling.

It isn't the end of the world if you remove all the strings at once.  If I am going to clean up my fret board I take them all off.  But if not I do them one at a time.

Good job!

I've recently changed to these stings too and i must say, in comparison of the factory strings the guitar came with, these sound a whole lot better...
I'll get it in the end. Just don't give up, that's the key....
